The co-founders of Venice-based media company Movie Pilot announced the launch of Creators Media this week. The new venture will act as a parent company for Movie Pilot and its new verticals, Now Loading and Champions. Atom Tickets announces star studded advisory board
Atom Tickets, the rapidly growing movie ticket service, announced this week the creation of its advisory board, and the roster is absolutely loaded. Joining the team will be innovative filmmakers Steven Spielberg, J.J. Abrams and filmmaker Tyler Perry. After years spent attempting to convince San Diego County to buy them a new stadium, it appears that the San Diego Chargers will be heading to LA in 2017. While LA frets at its own team's inability to do even the most simple things on the football field, LA Memorial Coliseum proprietors and local tech companies are undoubtedly giddy about the potential of having not one but two professional football teams playing in the same city once again. FloQast continues rolling, boasts 300 percent increase in revenue
The pride of Sherman Oaks, FloQast, is back in the news, and once again, it's for the right kind of reasons. The accounting software developer is boasting the addition of a number high-profile clients, including another hapless LA-based sports team, the Los Angeles Lakers, in addition to a 300+ percent increase in revenue. The Mobile Majority announces acquisition
Venice-based The Mobile Majority made waves this week with news the data monetization startup had acquired San Diego-based Gimbal. The company, which was incubated at Qualcomm, develops a mobile engagement platform used by brands. [Press Release]

Joymode opens pop-up shop (where nothing is for sale)
Joymode, the LA-based startup designed to help users rent things it doesn't make sense to actually own, opened its first pop-up shop this week, albeit, with a caveat: nothing in the shop is for sale. For the month of December, Joymode staffers will be on hand to show exactly what the company offers consumers for the first time. To date, Joymode had operated as an invitation-only service. Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, $30 million
Investors: EdgeWater Investments
Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, another startup aiming to bring Elon Musk's groundbreaking transportation technology concept to reality, announced a significant funding this week. The Playa Vista-based organization received $30 million from EdgeWater Investments, and now claims to have raised more than $100 million in venture capital and in-kind contributions to date.
