Kadho Sports teams with UCLA to provide innovative sports training technology

Irvine-based Kadho Sports, which develops a platform that allows coaches to view information on their players decision-making abilities, announced this week it partnered with UCLA's baseball team. As a part of the deal, Kadho Sports and UCLA designed baseball-specific modules to improve gameday performance on mobile devices. [​Press Release]

 

Atom Tickets announces further expansion

Santa Monica-based Atom Tickets continues to show it can't be, and won't be, stopped. The company reported this week it would be expanding its mobile ticketing-platform to 40 new markets, including San Francisco, Seattle, Portland and Denver. [Press Release]

 

Small Business Administration announces $3.4 million for startups

The Small Business Administration, in conjunction with a number of government entities, announced SBA's third annual Growth Accelerator Fund Competition, and the list was kind to LA tech. LA Cleantech Incubator and LA-based MedTech Innovator each received $50,000 to grow their operations in the LA area. [Press Release]

 

Washio closes its doors for good

On-demand laundry service Washio announced it is ceasing operations effective immediately this week. In a letter on the company's website, the founders stated that no new orders would be accepted. Founded in 2013, the startup had raised over $16 million in funding to date. [TechCrunch]

 

PetNet brings in $10 million

Downtown Los Angeles-based PetNet announced this morning the company had closed a $10 million Series A round. But the news didn't stop there: the round's leading contributor, pet supply retailer Petco, which led the round, also announced a partnership with the startup, and will begin carrying PetNet's line of products in stores and online this week. [​Built In LA]

Santa Monica-based SaaS app management developer Bitium announced this week the startup received $6 million in a round of funding led by Polaris Partners. The company plans to use the round to spur software development as the company continues to grow. [SoCalTech]
 
GOAT, $5 million
 
Investors: Matrix Partners, Upfront Ventures and Webb Investment Network.
 
LA-based mobile sneaker marketplace GOAT announced this week it received $5 million. The startup, which was founded in July 2015, has rapidly gained a foothold in the emerging sneaker resale industry, which is estimated to be worth over $1 billion. Vroozi, $4 million
 
Investors: Ally Holdings
 
Sherman Oaks-based cloud procurement platform Vroozi announced a $4 million round of funding this week, based largely on a big 2015 that saw the company double its workforce and open a new office. [Built In LA]
