Austin tops list as highest startup activity in 2016

Athenahealth, provider of cloud-based services in healthcare, has acquired Austin startup and care coordination platform PatientIO for an undisclosed amount. Austin's TenantCloud raised a $2 million seed round from UserFriendly Media LLC and angel investors. The company plans to use the capital to grow the business by hiring 10 workers, establishing partnerships and expanding the number of services to which it connects users. [Austin Business Journal]
Rackspace gets acquired for $4.3B by private equity firm
Rackspace, a cloud-service company based out of San Antonio with offices in Austin, announced it has agreed to go private with an acquisition by Apollo Global Management for $4.3 billion. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter. [Wall Street Journal]
Farm to Table expands services to Houston
