Drizly delivers drinks to suburbs, lands $15M investment
Alcohol delivery platform Drizly is expanding to the Chicago suburbs after landing a $15 million Series B round. The new funding will help it expand coverage within Chicago and the handful of north shore suburbs it already delivers to, along with expanding to Arlington Heights, Barrington, Crystal Lake and Norridge later this month. Opternative teams up with 1-800 Contacts
On Friday, Online eye exam purveyor Opternative announced a partnership with 1-800 Contacts. Customers of the online contact retailer can use “InstaRx” to get a prescription, which points them to Opternative’s test. During an early trial of the system, 5,500 people got prescriptions through Opternative. The tests are available in 36 states. [Chicago Tribune]
New hires help maintain Label Insight’s trajectory
Label Insight is expanding its executive team with three new hires. Mike Fridholm (left), previously of Quaker Oats and Nielsen, is joining as senior vice president of sales, while Deepak Talwar (right) is coming on as vice president of operations. Frontline Technologies is now Frontline Education
Education technology outfit Frontline Technologies announced a rebranding as Frontline Education after nearly twenty years in business. The name change reflects Frontline’s focus on the edtech industry, and comes with a complete brand update and a new logo (above). Market6 merges with Kroger's analytics arm
Retail analytics company Market6 is merging with 84.51°, a customer engagement firm owned by Kroger. Market6 previously had an exclusive deal with Roundy’s, which Kroger acquired last year. Market6’s Chicagoland employees will remain in their offices, while those based in Cincinnati will move to 84.51°’s headquarters in that city. [Supermarket News]
