Tata Elxsi and Suzuki Launch Pune Development Center

The partnership aims to support Suzuki’s green mobility vision and advance automotive engineering in Maharashtra.

Suzuki Motor Corporation and Bengaluru-based Tata Elxsi opened a new facility in Pune dedicated to engineering and sustainability innovation.

The SUZUKI-TATA ELXSI Offshore Development Center is expected to support Suzuki’s green  mobility vision. It will focus on development across areas ranging from lightweight design and eco-friendly materials to electric, hybrid and alternative fuel vehicle solutions, according to a news release.

Founded in Japan in the early twentieth century, Suzuki manufactures motorcycles, scooters, ATVs, cars and boat motors that are sold all over the world. Tata Elxsi provides businesses in the automotive industry and other sectors with design expertise and digital solutions.  

“This strategic and long-term partnership incorporates Suzuki’s endeavor of minimizing energy and enables India’s talent to actively contribute to our development efforts globally,” Katsuhiro Kato, Suzuki’s chief technology officer, said in a statement.
