U.S. software supply chain management company Sonatype has opened its new Hyderabad-based India Innovation Hub, its largest research and development center worldwide, bringing together more than 200 engineers, product leaders, data scientists and other professionals.
According to Sonatype’s Monday announcement, the hub will focus on AI- and machine learning-driven security, cloud-native software development and open-source intelligence to strengthen the global software supply chain. The company said Hyderabad was chosen for its strong engineering talent and growing AI ecosystem, which align with its long-term innovation strategy.
“Hyderabad has become a magnet for the world’s most innovative companies, making India the epicenter of software development powered by open source and AI. With the launch of our India Innovation Hub, Sonatype is tapping into one of the world’s most dynamic technology ecosystems — accelerating innovation that benefits not just India, but the global developer community,” Bhagwat Swaroop, CEO of Sonatype, said in a statement.
Sonatype said the India team is already contributing to enhancing its existing products and expanding customer support to new regions.
