Coupleship is a social matching service that helps couples make strong, lasting relationships through exciting, targeted events. We bring people together with similar interests and backgrounds and provide the right activity at the right time with the right people.
Our customers are any and all couples. Initially we will focus on those going through a significant transition – movers and new parents – because they have gone through the most dramatic life change. As we grow and become a trusted service we will be able to help all couples (e.g., those with children, empty nesters). Couples of all kinds can find themselves, at some point in their relationship, wanting more friends or enjoying activities with new people.There are couples throughout the world facing the same problem, and Coupleship can solve it.

The Problem:
Everyone needs friends. Most go through changes during their life in which they must replace their previously existing network of friends. This is particularly challenging for couples, who not only have less time and different incentives to find friends, but also have more requirements. Coupleship solves this challenge by finding new friends for couples in any stage of life.
The Solution:
Our services are convenient because we do all the work, finding suitable matches and organizing all the events. We will match couples on background, experience, interests, stages of life, and other critical components of sustainable relationships. We will match couples and have them interact through activities – initially in larger groups and later in smaller settings as relationships develop. Couples don’t have to set up an exciting profile “selling” themselves and then search, contact, and set up activities with other couples. Our customers just have to show up and focus on their goal – meeting other people. Coupleship also increases likelihood of successful relationships. Our events will have a group of 15 – 20 strategically selected couples to provide a large, viable pool of potential friends.
Our Revenue:
We have two revenue sources, both of which are largely scalable:
Activity Fees: Coupleship will organize larger events (e.g., cooking class, wine tasting, game nights, couples brunch) to facilitate early couple interactions. As relationships between couples develop through our service, we will evolve towards a more passive revenue source by bundling existing packages and coupons (e.g., Groupon, Living Social, etc.) to give our customers a valuable “couple date.”
Membership Fees: This is a one-time subscription fee per city, giving each unique couple unlimited access to the service in that city. The proposed $50 fee balances the perception of cheap service with “extortion” during events vs. one that is too expensive to dissuade subscription.
