Amazon acquired INLT for an undisclosed amount. INLT created software to help shippers stay on top of costs and customs when sending stuff internationally. Amazon acquired the company — which consists of about a dozen employees — in order to offer INLT’s technology to Amazon merchants. [Reuters]
Maka Autonomous Robots raised $8.9 million in funding. The startup creates autonomous robots for uses in agriculture. For example, it trains robots to spot the difference between crops and weeds, then removes the weeds mechanically without using herbicides or chemicals.
