RESILIENCE, an initiative designed to enhance the United Kingdom’s biopharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities, will launch in Edinburgh as the Medicines Manufacturing Skills Center of Excellence, according to reporting by Digit. RESILIENCE will offer training and upskilling to professionals in advanced manufacturing techniques.
The center aims to fuel collaboration between industry, academia and healthcare to cement the U.K.’s reputation within the global medicines manufacturing market. It offers access to VR technology, expertise and skill training, as well as accelerator programs for students, graduates and continuing professional development trainees. It also offers apprenticeship cohort activities and supports all career entry points.
RESILIENCE’s goal is to support the development and production of innovative medicines. The initiative is a £4.5 million, two-year program funded by the U.K.’s Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, the same article mentioned. Its partners include the University of Birmingham, University College London, Heriot-Watt University and other institutions. The program will develop and deliver training courses that address areas like digital technology, AI, data analysis and environmental sustainability.
