OpenAI announced its upcoming acquisition of Promptfoo, a move aimed at upgrading the OpenAI Frontier platform. This solution is designed for building and operating AI coworkers. The addition of Promptfoo’s AI security tech will enhance Frontier’s integrated enterprise capabilities, allowing companies to test agent behavior, detect risks before deployment and maintain their records.

The combination of the two companies’ respective technologies will specifically tie security and safety testing into Frontier, enable the platform to integrate with agent risk mitigation workflows and help businesses meet growing governance, risk and compliance expectations for AI.

“Promptfoo brings deep engineering expertise in evaluating, securing and testing AI systems at enterprise scale,” Srinivas Narayanan, OpenAI’s CTO of B2B applications, said in a statement. “Their work helps businesses deploy secure and reliable AI applications, and we’re excited to bring these capabilities directly into Frontier.”
