Hyderabad has been selected as the site for a new Google Safety Engineering Center that will contribute to advancements in online safety and privacy.
Chief Minister of Telangana Revanth Reddy announced the news in an X post, noting the establishment of a GSEC in Hyderabad will lead to new jobs for the region.
There are already GSECs set up in Munich, Dublin and Málaga, and Google bolstered its presence in the Asia-Pacific region earlier this year with the establishment of a Cybersecurity Center of Excellence in Tokyo. Each GSEC is made up of engineers, policy specialists and subject matter experts who are dedicated to improving internet safety, according to Google.
“With this successful partnership, we have made history and set the foundation for transforming Hyderabad into a global hub for Safety Engineering & Cyber Security,” Reddy wrote in his post.
