OpenAI announced the launch of its AI-powered web browser, ChatGPT Atlas. The browser incorporates a user’s ChatGPT conversation and browsing history to draw on past details and help them complete new tasks without leaving the page. Users can toggle whether their browsing history is remembered and whether that data can be used to train OpenAI’s models.

Additionally, ChatGPT’s agent mode is accessible through Atlas for Plus, Pro and Business users. The tool, introduced earlier this year, has improved research, analysis and automation capabilities, enabling it to book appointments or plan events as a user browses. OpenAI has also built in various browser safety features, disallowing the agent to run code, download files, install extensions, access other apps on a user’s device or take action while unmonitored.

ChatGPT Atlas is now available on macOS to Free, Plus, Pro and Go users as well as in beta mode for businesses. OpenAI will make the browser available to Windows, iOS and Android users soon.
