Motive, a company serving physical operations industries like transportation and logistics, energy and construction, announced $1.3 billion in growth financing from General Catalyst. It plans to invest the capital in advancing its AI platform, scaling its go-to-market teams and expanding its reach.

The company’s technology helps customers prevent collisions, maintain vehicles and equipment and automate manual work. Motive will invest in expanding its platform with new products that cover maintenance, operations intelligence and various AI capabilities to improve safety, increase productivity and solve complex operational challenges for customers. It will also scale its go-to-market teams across segments and geographies.

“Motive is building the intelligence layer for the physical economy,” Shoaib Makani, Motive’s co-founder and CEO, said in a statement. “AI that can see what’s happening on the road and in the field, understand what matters and take action. For our customers, that means preventing collisions, avoiding downtime and eliminating manual work. This financing will help us move faster and bring that value to more of the people and organizations that keep the world moving.”
