He is 19 years old. Venture firms just gave him $7 million to start his own company. Join us for a moderated conversation and audience Q&A with Pinterest designer and Gumroad founder, Sahil Lavignia.
Pinterest is the third most-popular social medium after Twitter and Facebook. Sahil Lavingia, who helped to create the sizzling hot virtual pinboard when he was only 18, has now focused his talents onto another project -- Gumroad. The new startup, which recently netted $7 million in venture capital funding, allows you to sell things you make directly to your followers.
"I'm just a 19-year old kid that likes building things. I design and code and all that fun stuff," says Lavingia. "I like to say that I fulfill needs and wants for fun and profit."
What else motivates this bright young developer? Find out on June 30th. Join the reporters and editors of Chicago Venture Media for an evening of learning, inspiration, networking and food from Kama Bistro, 2012 Winner of the Asian American Business Expo Pitch Competition.
