McCain Foods is advancing its global potato breeding strategy by introducing two key positions. These individuals will focus on enhancing variety development and sustainability, furthering the company’s commitment to integrating technology and data-driven methods within the potato industry.
The first role, the manager of digital breeding for McCain’s global potato team, will be based in North America or Europe. This position focuses on leveraging predictive modeling and new genomic techniques to accelerate the development of new potato varieties. The manager will also take part in strategic partnerships and collaborations. The role demands expertise in genomics, bioinformatics, cross-functional leadership and an ability to manage complex agricultural projects.
The second role, the coordinator of global variety development for potatoes, will be stationed in Florenceville, Canada. This role involves managing data related to potato varieties, overseeing trials and tracking sustainability efforts across various regions. Additionally, the coordinator will manage royalty reporting and collaborate with internal and external partners to enable the development of new potato varieties, requiring a background in agriculture, data analytics and potato processing.
