I like many am so disgusted and still confused as to why someone would ever commit such a horrifying act of violence against innocent people. I also like many demand change, it stupid for us to continue to just hope that something like this does not happen again and it's time we took action. That being said, this is a highly controversial and heavily debated topic of whether or not people should own guns.
My feelings are guns are awful and that nobody should own them. I think their cool, their fun, I’ve thought about buying one, I’ve shot many but as a whole, I don’t think guns have any place in society. That being said, many would argue against me and more importantly, would argue to their politicians who need votes and therefore, gun bans is all but a figment of our imagination.
Where I see potential to create change is through innovation by entrepreneurs and then collaboration with government officials. I don’t have the answer to what can be proposed but I believe the answer is entrepreneurs and government working together. I have an idea of mandatory locks on guns where they can only be fired in certain zones. You will have people that can break these locks but I think as a whole, that might help these crazy shootings. Anyway, like I said, I don’t have the answer, but I look toward the innovation community to start thinking because not only is this a huge market opportunity, but it is also an absolute necessity to prevent future travesties.
