Independent digital agency Manifest Digital announced yesterday its acquisition of 4ORCE Digital, a St. Louis-based agency. The combined companies now boast a roster of over 130 employees in Chicago and St. Louis. According to Manifest Digital founder Jim Jacoby, his company wanted 4ORCE due to its “complementary services and complementary portfolios.”

Together, Manifest Digital and 4ORCE serve clients such as Post Foods, Allstate, and Walgreens. The 4ORCE name will be laid to rest as the St. Louis office is doubled and employees there folded into the Manifest Digital network. Dan Curran, 4ORCE’s founder, is now the President of the Southern Region for Manifest Digital.
Jacoby says the union is greater than the sum of its parts. Manifest Digital has a history of focusing on products and platforms for its clients, while 4ORCE excels in marketing content on a national scale.
“Together, we can be much more thorough in our offerings from strategy through engineering while flexing design research, interaction design, marketing campaigns and social programs throughout,” Jacoby says.
Jacoby says the Chicago marketing community will benefit from the team-up.
“Anchored in Chicago and expanding across the Midwest, Manifest can set a standard for progressive digital services with the amazing talent base here,” Jacoby says. “When we avoid the 'retreat-to-the-coasts' business models that holding companies and others seem to use, we stand to create something that is more 'us'... and more right for the amazing companies based in our Midwest markets.”
