The tech industry has continued to bolster New Zealand’s economy, accounting for nearly 10 percent of the country’s GDP and employing five percent of its national workforce. Data analytics, software developers and cybersecurity professionals are in high demand due to the proliferation of of cloud-based computing in the region. Google, a tech powerhouse and household name, changed the way we access information through its search engine and cloud computing productivity tools. Google has also made major investments in its generative AI model, Gemini. The company established its New Zealand office in 2007 where it supports engineering, cloud and client partnerships.  

 

Tesla was one of the first companies to make commercially-available electric vehicles and says that its goal is to “accelerate the advent of sustainable transport.” The company has rapidly evolved the EV market and is currently investing in robotaxis and a wide range of AI-powered technology. Tesla hires skilled workers across New Zealand in its vehicle services sector. 

 

One of the most popular worldwide computer and consumer electronic brands, Apple aims to create a great user experience with its technology. The company has played a major role in supercharging communication technology since its founding in 1976 — and especially since it released the iPhone in 2007. Apple is hiring for roles across sales and engineering in Auckland. 

 

Amazon, the tech giant also known as “the everything store,” is the largest online retailer in the world. Since its founding, the company has acquired over 100 popular subsidiaries like Whole Foods and Goodreads. Amazon is currently hiring in Auckland and Wellington for roles across engineering, marketing and sales.   

 

Microsoft is most well known for empowering individuals and businesses worldwide through its software and hardware solutions. The corporation is recognized globally for its products, including Windows, Office and Azure, as well as its Surface devices. The company is also betting big on generative AI through its multi-billion dollar investment in OpenAI. In New Zealand, Microsoft hires for a variety of positions like customer success, account management and more.
