So, we launched an app at Techweek this year in conjunction with our event at @1871chicago.
The app is a social learning network built on learning technology - The Tin Can API (the next evolution in the SCORM standard), an enterprise friendly measurement platform for measurement of learning in an organization.

A little about the app (now only out for iOS, but coming to Android and Web this month):
Tappestry is a mobile social network, designed for users to learn, store and retrieve useful information.
Users enter Threads of information that they have learned and sort them using a set of defined verbs and categories.
These structures allow users to stitch the things they have learned into a larger universe and see related content.
The 1.2 build is pretty significant. Download it now.
What's New in Version 1.2?
- LEADERBOARDS – Who are the people adding the most value to the network? Easily find who is logging the most events and providing the most overall activity on the network.
- SEARCH – You can search the Tappestry network for threads about subjects and ideas you are interested in.
- HASH TAGS -- Now you can add tags to your threads and quickly search posts with the same tags.
- ANNOUNCEMENTS -- We've upgraded the Comments stream to show you more of what's going on around you--now you can see when someone comments on and rates your threads in one spot!
- CATEGORY STREAM -- Filter the public stream by topic to only see the threads you're interested in.
- INTEGRATED WEB BROWSER - You no longer have to leave Tappestry to learn more about a thread--links throughout the app now open with the built-in web browser.
- NEARBY THREADS – Find things that people have learned in the immediate geographic area. You might just find out something really cool about your surroundings.
- REDESIGNED STREAM VIEW – You asked for it, and we listened. Larger type, more flexible design and an optimized experience to make browsing threads even easier.
I got a preliminary review from a user and this is what he had to say... opens up a whole new use for us. Talk about a potential for a pivot!
"Honestly, with the ability to share via Twitter, full search and support for hashtags, Tappestry goes from being a nice little Tin Can app to being a preferred way I'll be tweeting from events from now on. Why? because months later I can go back (thanks to Tin Can) to what I tweeted about what I learned. I can't search more than two weeks back with Twitter, but I can go back to my first posts in Tappestry from June of this year."
I would really appreciate and encourage your feedback... we're building this learning app using Lean principles... the first research for the app was a paper prototpye and a few Stephen Blank style interviews... what's followed has been asweome. Thousands of downloads and lots of great feedback.
Keep it coming!
