haven't gone off on a rant like this in a while. but i have to let this off my chest
here's my two cents on how we as citizens can overcome all of the calamity in our world. being a startup ceo, i'd like to reference some business logic. it's not about profits. it's not about stakeholder return. in fact, it's something fundamental to the health of any business- values.
greatness in business isn't achieved by hanging up bright and shiny posters with motivational quotes. Why? because they're superficial.
When something as important as values are only surface level, they're useless.
greatness in business is achieved by one thing- culture. you know it when it's there. you literally feel it when you walk in the room. you see it in the eyes of the team, and you hear it in their voice.
if we as people want to live and thrive in a great world, we must achieve greatness as a whole.
whether the group of people are a company, a state, a nation, or a world. values are at the core. when they don't exist, when the group uses the bright and shiny posters, their values are just as thin as the paper they are printed on.
it's our world, and we only have one. so it's time that we rip those posters off the wall.
