Inc. recently released its 2021 list identifying the 5000 fastest-growing privately held companies in the United States. Washington, D.C. businesses certainly had space to shine with over 350 companies based in the metro area making the cut. 

The list ranks businesses based on their percentage revenue growth between 2017 and 2020. In total, businesses in the Washington D.C. metro (including D.C., Arlington, Rockville, among other cities) experienced a median growth of 161 percent with a total of $18.5 million in revenue. These companies also added 64,619 jobs during this time.

Across all industries, 225 Washington D.C. metro businesses on the list were repeat honorees and 29 were newly founded.

In its first two years of operation, Olympic Media has already grown its revenue a whopping 20,330 percent. Based in Arlington, Virginia, Olympic Media specializes in digital copywriting, advertising and marketing automation. The company works in multiple verticals including politics and advocacy, intelligence and defense, media and consumer brands, and sports media. Not did Olympic Media make the top 15 fastest-growing private companies in the U.S., it also ranked #1 in the advertising and marketing industry, according to Inc.

In the past three years, the company has had an impressive 5,118 percent revenue growth, putting it on the Inc. 5000 list for the first time.
