Google is expanding its India presence with a $15 billion hub in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Enabling the tech giant to deploy full-stack AI solutions, the new facility will encompass high-power AI infrastructure, expansive data center capacity, large-scale energy sources and an expanded fiber-optic network in one location.

The company’s latest investment in India will span the next five years, aligning with government efforts to accelerate the expansion of AI-driven services through the Viksit Bharat 2047 initiative. The hub is expected to generate $15 billion in American GDP from 2026 to 2030 due to increased cloud and AI adoption and the American talent and resources devoted to the hub’s development.

The AI hub investment will include the construction of a new international subsea gateway that will help India meet increasing digital demands and provide route diversity. Additionally, Google will continue its focus on green energy, working with local partners to deliver new transmission lines, clean energy generation and energy storage systems in Andhra Pradesh.

“The Google AI hub in Visakhapatnam represents a landmark investment in India’s digital future. By delivering industry-leading AI infrastructure at scale, we are enabling businesses to innovate faster and creating meaningful opportunities for inclusive growth,” Thomas Kurian, Google Cloud’s CEO, said in a statement. “This partnership reflects our shared commitment to the Indian and U.S. governments to harness AI responsibly and drive transformative impact for society.”
