Get off the Ground: Top 5 Resources for Starting Up

We are bootstrapping SeatSync, a task made lighter by the unlimited number of startup resources online. Without these tools -- either as sources of advice or versatile products we added to our workshop -- our task list would be longer, our funds less productive, and our progress not as quick. 

Here is a non-comprehensive list of our favorite startup starting-up resources, in order of when they became useful to us:

1. Before you get too far, spend some time with this excellent set of articles by the folks at Y Combinator. They have worked with startups as much as anyone; heed their advice. 
2. Try Mixergy to find candid interviews of relevant entrepreneurs. This interview of Zaarly Co-Founder Bo Fishback was incredibly helpful. Zaarly is relevant to our particular niche as a peer-to-peer marketplace, and Bo's enthusiasm and advice hit us at the right time. Also, credit to Andrew Warner for developing Mixergy and conducting these great interviews.
3. This one is no secret: Google Docs is essential for effective management of documents. We use Google Docs for most of our documents, and love it for its live collaboration, group sharing by folder, and simple surveys.
4. Startup Lawyer: If I launched a Startup.... Excellent and concise display of startup lawyer Ryan Roberts' ideal startup structure, with advice on many of the legal details of incorporation and issuing stock.
5. Leverage every relevant and trustworthy person in your network... colleagues, friends and family. Some of our lucky people have heard about SeatSync incessantly for months now, which has given us two specific and valuable results. First, our product positioning is stronger, and we are clearer on the hows and whys of our strategic plan. Second (and probably more important), we have gotten MUCH better at talking about SeatSync. Effectively communicating our product will be critical in acquiring users, funding, and overall success.
