Hacking Hangout @Bigcommerce, 6:30 p.m., Dec. 12

Women Who Code Austin will meet at Bigcommerce for their monthly networking and programming event. Coders of all abilities are welcome to work on whatever they want in a friendly and supportive environment. Pizza and drinks will be served. 

Pie-thon 101: An Introduction to Python, 6 p.m., Dec. 13

Pie will actually be served at Dev Bootcamp's introductory session to Python, a beginner-friendly language used on servers in backend web development. Please bring your laptop and come to learn about the tools needed to run and code with Python, the syntax for basic programming concepts, what the World Wide Web looks under the hood, and how to setup a simple web server. 

Free Workshop & Open House @ NY Code + Design Academy Austin, 7 p.m., Dec. 14

Join NYCDA Austin for a free workshop and open house. The workshop will review the "Building Blocks of the Web" to show you anyone can code. Meet the team and staff of NYCDA, enjoy some refreshments, and enter to win an Amazon Ehco.

Austin TechBreakfast: AUTHORS.me, DoubleHorn, SkimKing, Inc., data.world, 8 a.m., Dec. 15

Capital Factory will host their free Austin TechBreakfast featuring speakers Monica Landers from AUTHORS.me, Marr Harris from DoubleHorn: BetterClouds, Greg Farrenkopf from SkimKing and Dave Griffith from data.world. Techies, developers, designers and entrepreneurs are welcome. 

Fall 2016 Front End Engineering Demo Day, 4 p.m., Dec. 16

The Iron Yard Austin will hold its Fall 2016 Front End Engineering Demo Day to celebrate its current cohort. Light refreshments will be served during the open house and presentations. This event is for employers interested in hiring junior developers, friends and family, and prospective students who are interested in seeing what they can create after three months of technical training.
