IT solutions provider Ergo has announced a £4.5 million investment from Invest Northern Ireland to open a new office in Belfast that is expected to create 40 new high-quality jobs over the next three years.
Ergo, which is headquartered in Dublin, provides cloud infrastructure, data and artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity services. According to reporting from Invest NI, the company plans to recruit Belfast talent to support its growing employee base and enhance its digital capabilities.
Economy Minister Conor Murphy said in a statement: “The software and cyber sector is one of the north’s most innovative, productive and export-oriented sectors. Investments like Ergo’s will help to grow the sector by creating high-quality jobs that support economic growth. With salaries well above the private sector median, these roles will contribute almost £2.4 million annually into the local economy.”
Ergo’s new office, located at Clockwise, River House near Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter, forms part of the company’s wider strategy to expand its presence and drive economic growth through job creation and tech exports from Northern Ireland. The company is actively recruiting for 40 hybrid roles, which will contribute to its 700-strong international workforce, spanning markets in Ireland, the United Kingdom, the United States, Romania and New Zealand.
Ergo CEO Paul McCann said: “Our presence in Northern Ireland means we will now be ideally situated between two key markets across Ireland and the U.K., allowing us to serve even more customers as we continue to expand our footprint globally.”
