A little background:
The Chicago Digital Startup Initiative is an annual grant created by the Chicago Interactive Marketing Association (CIMA), the city’s only interactive-centric professional organization.
CIMA will grant money and in-kind services to two start-up organizations in Chicago every year.
What are the eligibility requirements for funding?
Digital marketing and advertising start-up’s and entities registered in the Chicago and Chicagoland areas with $1MM or below in top-line revenue are invited to apply. Companies may service other businesses (B2B) or consumers (B2C), but must specialize in online marketing in some form or fashion.
What is the timeline for the grant funding?
9/4/12: Call for applications
10/16/12: Application deadline
10/22/12 – 10/26/12: Top 5 Candidate Presentations
10/29/12: CDSI Award Announcement & Event
What do grant recipients receive?
Two start-up organizations will be awarded grant funding and in-kind services.
- First Place will receive $15K
- Second Place will receive $5K
- Both first and second place organizations will receive in-kind services such as complimentary CIMA membership and access to CIMA events and potential sponsorships.
Recipients will be asked to provide quarterly updates to the CIMA Board and provide information on how they are spending the funds.
