Austin-based cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike announced plans to acquire identity security company SGNL to strengthen its next-generation identity protection capabilities, enabling real-time, risk-based access for human users, non-human identities and AI agents across SaaS applications and hyperscale cloud environments.

In a news release, CrowdStrike said SGNL’s technology will be integrated into the Falcon platform, extending authorization controls across SaaS applications and hyperscale cloud environments.

CrowdStrike said identity security is one of cybersecurity’s fastest-growing segments and is projected to reach $56 billion by 2029, citing IDC research. SGNL will operate as a runtime enforcement layer between modern identity providers and cloud-based resources, evaluating identity context, device posture and behavior to adjust access as conditions change.

The combined SGNL and Falcon platform is expected to deliver access enforcement across major identity systems, improved identity governance, downstream protection and unified security for hybrid environments.
