Changing the Way You Discuss Money with Instagram

There is no question that Instagram has created a new way for people to express their lives. Chicago startup, Smarteys.com, is tapping into that new dialog and calling for photos of money moments using the App from May 1st - May 31st. Photos can be funny or serious, of a person or group, but must be snapped with Instagram. The company hopes this platform will change the way you discuss money.

As companies try to join the social conversations of their followers and fans, Smarteys has jumped right in by asking people to do what they already love - take pictures. Shots can be emailed to Smarteys at [email protected] or tweeted @smarteys #moneymoments.

Finding the right words to talk about money is a challenge for everyone, especially Gen Y who face outrageous student loan rates and an even more outrageous job market. Allowing people to take pictures to capture their emotions could be more telling than any verbal conversation. It is a let me show you vs let me tell you generation, and this hits the nail right on the head.

Plus, it's fun. How many of us shut down at the sound of "money" words? There's no need to tune out when viewing a set of beautifully filtered photos that are sure to make even the ugliest money problem look attractive.

How can you join the photo sharing conversation? Send Instagram photos of your money moments to [email protected] or @smarteys with hashtag #moneymoments.  The best will be featured on the Company's account and promoted.
