Cerebras Systems, a provider of AI inference solutions for model training, has raised $1.1 billion in a Series G funding round, valuing the company at $8.1 billion post-investment. The round was led by Fidelity Management & Research Company and Atreides Management, with additional backing from Tiger Global, Valor Equity Partners, 1789 Capital and others.

According to the company’s announcement, the new funding will support Cerebras in expanding its product offerings, including advancements in AI processor design, packaging, system architecture and AI supercomputers. The funds will also help increase its U.S.-based manufacturing and data center capacity to meet rising demand.

Since its inception, Cerebras has delivered inference speeds reportedly over 20 times faster than leading GPUs on both open-source and proprietary models. The company said the growing need for real-time applications has made speed an advantage, attracting more customers to its high-performance systems.
