Seattle tech had a big week with announcements from NASA, Karat and more. Read on to see who else is making headlines. This is the Built In Seattle weekly refresh.

NASA selected Blue Origin to develop in space. Seattle’s Blue Origin is one of three companies to have signed a deal with NASA to develop designs for space stations and other commercial destinations in space. The deal is a part of NASA’s mission to enable a robust, American-led commercial economy. [NASA]

Upbound raised $60M. The Series B round led was by Altimeter Capital. Upbound is a cloud management platform that is behind the Crossplane project. The funds raised will allow the startup to expand its services and broaden its go-to-market efforts, among other missions. [Business Wire]

Peer got $12M. Metaverse startup Peer’s latest funding round will be used to fuel its product roadmap. Peer was created to build the hardware and software necessary to form the metaverse. [Built In Seattle]

Headset gained $8.6M. Headset collects and analyzes consumer transaction information to create data models allowing cannabis businesses to optimize their decision-making. The cannabis analytics company will use its fresh capital for product development and market expansion. [Built In Seattle]

Inspectify raised $8M. The Seattle-based booking platform addresses the home inspection process. The company is co-founded by Josh Jensen, a former Flyhomes executive, and former Zillow employee Denis Bellavance. [GeekWire] 

Karat hired a new director of design. Karat is a software designed to help companies find and hire the best engineers. The company hired a new director of design, Sean Patrick Coon, and still hiring to fill other open roles. Karat also made headlines in October when it raised $110 million. [LinkedIn]
