Re:3D wins WeWork Creator Awards, $1M

Austin 3D printing startup Re:3D claimed this year’s WeWork Creator Award which included $1 million in prize money. Re:3D develops industrial, affordable, human-scale 3D printers called Gigabots. For every 100 Gigabots sold, the company donates one printer to a group dedicated to enhancing its community. Samantha Snabes founded the company in 2013. [Press Release]

Wellnicity raises $3.6M seed round

Austin healthtech startup Wellnicity closed a $3.6 million seed round on Tuesday, led by Capstar Partners. The company sells at-home testing kits that can measure fatigue, depression, anxiety, weight loss and more. Based on the test results, users can then order Wellnicity’s customized supplement packs to address areas of concern. The funding will be used toward marketing, packaging and fulfillment, and toward further development of Wellnicity’s software platform. [Built In Austin]

Main Street Hub acquired by GoDaddy for $125M

Arizona-based GoDaddy announced its $125 million cash offer to acquire Austin-based Main Street Hub this week. The deal, if solidified, could yield up to $50 million in future earnouts and is expected to close in June. As part of the acquisition, GoDaddy will maintain Main Street Hub’s office in Austin and co-founders and co-CEOs Matt Stuart and Andrew Allison will join GoDaddy's commerce business unit in leadership roles. Next Coast Ventures adds new venture partner

On Tuesday, Austin-based VC firm Next Coast Ventures announced its newest partner addition, Jeff Browning. As venture partner, Browning will support Next Coast’s portfolio companies in organizational design, recruiting and executive coaching. Browning joins the team with more than 30 years of experience in executive talent acquisition. He most recently recruited CEO candidates for GTCR Private Equity’s Leaders Strategy Program. Capital Factory announces Dallas location

Capital Factory announced on Monday that it has opened a Dallas location, similar to Austin’s, for startups, mentors, investors and events. The new space is located in the Centrum building in Dallas’ Oak Lawn neighborhood and is slated to open May this year. Other tech companies in the building include Dallas’ Salesforce office and fashion startup RewardStyle. [Dallas News]

Silicon Labs moves to acquiring just Sigma's Z-Wave business

Silicon Labs announced in Decembers its plan to acquire Sigma Designs for $282 million. Plans for the merger fell through, so the Austin-based company will move forward with its contingency plan to acquire just Sigma Designs’ Z-Wave business for $240 million. [Austin Business Journal]
