Austin API Summit, June 11 at 12 p.m.
Head to the Palmer Events Center this Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for this year’s Nordic Austin API Summit. The event will feature a collection of workshops along with more than 30 speakers who will address the best ways to develop a thriving API-first environment.
Austin Clojure Meetup: Smalltalk Influences on OO, June 11 at 7 p.m.
Sam Griffith will speak at this month’s Austin Clojure meetup on the origins of Smalltalk and its influence on Ruby, Clojure and other programming languages and systems. Additionally, Griffith will walk the group through a live demo of how Smalltalk works. The AustinRB meetup group will also join this month’s session.
Forging Your Own Path with Pingboard’s Bill Boebel, June 13 at 6 p.m.
Startup Grind Austin will welcome guest speaker Bill Boebel this Wednesday night at Capital Factory. Boebel, CEO and founder at Pingboard, will share his background and experiences in the tech world, which include founding Webmail while attending Virginia Tech, investing in early-stage startups, co-founding Capital Factory and now leading Pingboard. Light food will be provided.
Introduction to Machine Learning with Python, June 13 at 6:30 p.m.
Austin Data Science invites you to join them this Wednesday evening at Galvanize for an introduction to machine learning. The workshop will cover testing and training machine learning models as well as dive into largely adopted sci-kit implementations in recognizable machine learning algorithms.

Video Game Makers Unite! will feature guest speaker Paul Stephanouk at this Thursday’s meetup. Stephanouk, a game designer and producer with more than 17 years of experience in the industry, will share ways of dealing with common, yet hardly talked about, challenges that can arise during your career as a game designer.
