A new east side co-working space opens on Monday featuring nap nooks, meditation spots, privacy booths, event space, showers, recreational spots, food trucks and parking. It can also house up to 115 members.
ATX Factory founding member Vijay Mehra, the founder and CEO of Think Tech Labs, used his travel experiences and his appreciation for the southern charm of Texas entrepreneurs to inspire his live-well concept of the co-working space. He and his childhood best friend, Mark Hutchinson, ATX Factory's engineer and site manager, chose the spot together with wellness, work and social atmosphere in mind.
The space's motto is "create, collaborate and meditate."
"We believe to be a thriving company, one's founders and employees have to make time for all three," said Allison Tugwell, ATX Factory's community director.
Local architecture firm Mark Odom Studios designed the space located off Levander Loop and East Cesar Chavez Street, and Kim Lewis Designs created the interior design, creating a unique, relaxing work environment, with easy access off of Airport Boulevard.
Some of the amenities members can take advantage of during their work day include cold brew coffee on tap, stocked fridges of La Croix and Topo Chico, and healthy snacks like chia and fig bars and coconut chips. They've also partnered with SnackNation, a company that donates 10 meals to families in need for every box purchased by ATX Factory. Additionally, a Stumptown barista will be on site, and a Juice Society boutique will be in the kitchen and bar area for members and guests to purchase.
Memberships range from $450 per month for team tables to $1,200 per month for private offices and are available for timeframes of six months to three years.
ATX Factory's location marks the most east coworking space in Austin thus far, with Perch CoWorking, Atmosphere Coworking and Createscape Coworking nearby and less than two miles away.
