Airwallex, a global fintech company, has raised $330 million in a Series G round led by Addition, with participation from T. Rowe Price, Activant, Lingotto, Robinhood Ventures and TIAA Ventures, to accelerate its U.S. and global expansion. According to a news release, the financing values the company at $8 billion, a 30 percent increase since its previous funding round earlier this year.

As part of its U.S. push, Airwallex also announced San Francisco as a second global headquarters. The city will be home to core product, engineering, strategic partnerships and go-to-market teams, as the company aims to grow its U.S. workforce to more than 400 employees within the next year and expand globally by over 50 percent by the end of 2026.

A key part of Airwallex’s expansion is its development of specialized AI agents that can run real financial workflows, laying the foundation for a fully autonomous finance department. These agents use contextual signals across payments, treasury and spend data to automate complex, multi-step processes. The company’s newest tool, the Expense Submission Agent, automatically gathers receipts, matches them to transactions, categorizes expenses and completes required submission fields.

“We’re building a modern alternative, a single platform that powers global banking, payments, billing, treasury, and spend on top of proprietary financial infrastructure. This capital will accelerate our growth, extend our technical leadership, and strengthen our position in the U.S. and across key markets worldwide,” Jack Zhang, CEO of Airwallex, said in a statement.
