Ahold Delhaize USA, the U.S. division of retail corporation Ahold Delhaize, recently announced the appointment of its senior vice president. Vipin Gopal, who brings more than two decades of experience to the role, will serve as the chief data and AI officer for the company’s U.S. businesses.
Prior to joining Ahold Delhaize USA, Gopal held senior leadership roles at companies including Humana, Cigna, United Technologies Corporation and Honeywell. In his new capacity, Gopal will spearhead Ahold Delhaize USA’s data, analytics and AI strategy to embed data-driven decision-making and AI capabilities more deeply into its business. His tasks will include transforming enterprise data foundations and accelerating responsible AI adoption.
“Vipin brings deep expertise in data, analytics and AI, along with a strong track record of transforming organizations at scale,” Ann Dozier, CIO of Ahold Delhaize USA, said in a May statement. “As we continue to modernize our digital, data and technology capabilities, his leadership will be instrumental in helping us build a strong data center of excellence and unlock differentiated value for our customers, brands and associates.”
