The Role
MarketAxess is a leading electronic trading platform for a variety of fixed income securities and derivatives in the US and European markets. We are seeking a Client Integration Engineer (CI) to work with IT personnel at broker-dealers and institutional clients to help them integrate their front, middle and back-office technology systems to the MarketAxess Fixed Income trading system via Application Programming Interfaces (API).
How You'll Help Take Us There
- Delivering client, dealer and/or post-trade integration projects using Market Axess APIs.
- Work closely with internal business and technical teams to implement new API features with client requirements/needs in mind
- Work with internal teams for speedy resolution of any issues in the test and production environments.
- Build and foster relationships with client and dealer IT teams, engaging them in the design and development of existing and new API products/features/services.
- Create and maintain clear and concise technical documentation, aimed at external IT audience.
- Occasionally, build tools and test harnesses to support the ongoing integration of clients and dealers with the MarketAxess system.
- Managing new and existing institutional clients and broker-dealers with the implementation/integration of MarketAxess Trading and Post-Trade APIs for various STP features.
- Support API integrations for various fixed income products such as Eurobonds, Government Bonds, Emerging Markets, US High Yield, High Grade, Treasuries
What We're Looking for
- 3+ years’ experience in a client/FIX onboarding, development, trade support or business analyst role.
- Experience in certification/client onboarding is highly desirable. Specifically, automation of certification procedures and installing self-service tools to produce operational efficiencies.
- FIX protocol experience a must
- Experience with XML (DTD, schemas), TCP/IP & networking fundamentals
- Good working knowledge of Unix/Linux operating system including user commands, scripting etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, effective at building customer relations
- Strong organization skills managing multiple integration projects at any given time.
- This is a very externally focused technical role. Candidates must be articulate, have a strong client orientation and show a high sense of urgency towards client demands/needs
- English as a requisite, secondary language desirable
