The Field Operations organization has a keen focus on plant performance, outage and service-call reduction, productivity and quality assurance. They are responsible for maintaining our cable plant, including node and coax maintenance, plant construction and delivering quality service to the homes and businesses of our customers.

The Vice President Regional Engineering is responsible for providing leadership and direction for plant design, construction and oversight for FCC compliance across the Region, as well as overseeing the development technical and engineering staff.
BE PART OF THE CONNECTION

  • As Vice President Regional Engineering (VP RE), you will implement and enhance consistent practices to ensure stable service construction and engineering delivery, ensuring alignment aligned with company initiatives and expectations, as well as interfacing with the Corporate Network Operations team on product optimization and deployment which supports the region
  • You are responsible for the overall plant engineering design standards, adherence and overall operating metrics for the field technicians
  • You are responsible for the design, oversight and reporting of the preventative and demand maintenance programs for the region
  • You evaluate and consult with senior management regarding strategic planning of rebuilds and system extensions, network, and new product development and deployment for the Region
  • You review selections on bids for contracted projects, and provide recommendations as necessary and own oversight for Federal Communications Commission and other government agencies compliance and standards, oversight for fiber restoration and best practice implementation for the region, and oversight for disaster recovery readiness and support for the Region Ensure adherence to company safety standards

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

  • Experience: Experience working and leading the field construction/engineering function in the cable/communication business (10+years), management of annual budget preparation and implementation (8 years), senior level management experience (10+years)
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent field experience; SCTE/BCTE certification or equivalent field experience
  • Industry and vendor specific certifications and training Advanced Knowledge of HFC, Advanced Video, and IP Networks
  • Knowledge of all FCC compliance reports and other rules and regulations, a comprehensive understanding of applicable local and state rules and regulations; Comprehensive understanding of OSHA rules and regulations, both federal and state; Comprehensive understanding of HVAC and power distribution systems; Advanced knowledge of Digital Transmission; Advanced knowledge of Electronic theory Advanced knowledge of Federal Communications Commission regulations; Advanced knowledge of Fiber Optic theory;
  • Knowledge of National Electric Code and National Electric Safety Code
