Department: Reagent Lab 881

Primary Purpose:

Under general direction this position is responsible to collect, analyze, and organize source materials from the appropriate department, management, and applicable ARUP employees. Develop, edit, revise, and produce technical documents according to established standards. Responsible to coordinate the distribution and review of drafts, and organize meetings with reviewers as necessary. Utilize techniques appropriate for both print and computer based technical writing. Responsible to observe production, development, and certification activities to determine operating procedure and detail as needed. Organizes material and completes writing assignments according to set standards.

Essential Functions:

Create written documentation of ARUP application as designated for end-users.

Create written documentation of ARUP technical support procedures.

Create on-line documentation for specified application or functions.

Provide and maintain a library of all written documentation.

Responsible to modify existing documentation as processes and procedures change.

Participate in appropriate team meetings as needed.

Ensures that audits of applications and reporting are performed and reviewed periodically.

Searches for ways to make the department more efficient and more effective.

Provide technical information when appropriate.

Provide communication, updates, and correspondence as required.

Assist with development of department policies and procedures as needed.

Provide application testing of new application and reports as needed.

Perform ARUP in-house application testing as needed.

Perform validation of documents written.

Remain informed of all procedures and procedure changes.

Maintain confidentiality of laboratory results/information according to ARUP policies.

Other duties as assigned.

Physical and Other Requirements:

Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.

Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Communicate: Frequently communicate with others.

PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.

ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Vision: Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as make general observations of depth and distance.

Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
