Overview

Microsoft Devices Operations (MDO) creates hardware that delivers the best of Microsoft experiences to our customers by managing the end-to-end supply chain for products such as Xbox and Surface.

We are looking for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join our global planning team in the Microsoft Devices Operations organization.

As a Supply Chain Manager you will be responsible for creating, communicating, and executing a product supply plan that ensures the best availability (right product in the right place at the right time) and efficient use of inventory across different regions & segments. You will work with key suppliers, as well as channel, logistics and fulfillment teams to improve product availability, lower overall supply chain costs, and optimize working capital. You will solve complex inventory optimization problems in a scalable way and drive continuous improvement of supply planning processes by benchmarking against best practices.

Responsibilities

Inventory Management:

  • Optimizing stock levels across multiple locations and geographies
  • Analyzing availability data and driving rebalancing to maximize supply available to our customers.
  • Anticipating demand and ensuring sufficient inventory to meet requirements.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Cross-functional collaboration: Working closely with operations, production, and other supply chain partners.
  • Vendor and supplier negotiation: Engaging with suppliers to maintain timely supply and address shortages.

Strategic Planning:

  • Developing supply chain plans: Creating both short-term and long-term plans
  • Optimizing supply parameters (e.g., lead times, safety stock, minimum order quantities) to enhance availability.
  • Develop and drive the future state capabilities and systems roadmap, articulating the business impact and success metrics associated with each initiative.

Performance Monitoring:

  • Evaluation and reporting of performance to improve supply continuity

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 1+ year(s) supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience
    • o OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field
    • o OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ Years demonstrated experience with personal computing devices supply chain with prior experience in product supply planning, inventory management, procurement or manufacturing operations
  • 3+ Years years experience with SAP IBP or Similar (Integrated Business Planning Tools)

Supply Planning IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $75,100 - $148,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $98,800 - $163,300 per year.
