Job Summary:

At Fluence Energy, demand for our energy storage solutions has never been stronger, and so is our need for talented people to join our team. Currently we are looking for qualified candidates to fill our Direct Buyer positions. In this role the successful candidate will be responsible for supplier sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials and services to ensure factory production runs smoothly.


Key Responsibilities:

Identify and assess potential suppliers for materials and components required for production. 

Evaluate supplier capabilities, quality, and reliability.

Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable contracts while maintaining quality and reliability. 

Create, review, and approve purchase orders for materials and components. Ensure accuracy in quantities, specifications, and pricing to meet manufacturing needs.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers. Collaborate with them to resolve issues, improve delivery times, and ensure consistent quality.

Partner closely with factory planners managing inventory levels to prevent shortages and minimize excess stock. 

Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.

Ensure that all procurement activities adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards. 

Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, supplier reliability, and changes in market conditions that may impact production.

Work with suppliers to improve their processes, quality, and reliability. Collaborate on long-term strategies to enhance the supplier's capabilities.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field. 

3 to 5 years’ experience in procurement and vendor management, preferably in direct procurement.

Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Proficiency in procurement software and tools. Experience with NetSuite is a plus.

Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and quality standards.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-focused environment.

Desire to join a rapidly growing company in an exciting industry.

Role may require occasional travel.
