Job Description:

Aerojet Rocketdyne, an L3Harris company, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support IR&D projects in Huntsville, AL.

The Project Management Senior Specialist will directly assist the IR&D project director in managing a cross-functional team. This role works with program management and internal stakeholders to scope the work to be outsourced to external suppliers, select qualified suppliers, and provide oversight of the supplier relationship. Additionally, the project manager will have exposure to high level leadership and will advise on project direction in the best interest of the Missile Solutions sector. The Project Manager duties are broad in nature and may encompass multiple phases of functions throughout missile solutions. The Project Manager will also work closely with third-party vendors to ensure timeliness of critical tasks and ensures work remains within the bounds of cost and schedule.

Essential Functions:

• Plan, coordinate and lead program meetings and workshops
• Manage cross-functional team on behalf of IR&D Director
• Manage third party vendor selection
• Manage third party vendors performance to their commitments along scope, cost, and schedule
• Manage capital and infrastructure projects accordingly
• Report and advise senior leadership on program status
• Influence positive cultural and organizational change
• Perform cost account/financial management duties as needed
• Perform business case analysis and justifications.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior engineering experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Experience in project management and managing cross-functional teams is preferred.
• Experience accelerating delivery dates for administrative deliverables is preferred.
• Some knowledge of Aerojet Rocketdyne (Missile Solutions) product lines is a plus.
• Experience with earned value program management and risk management is preferred.
• Background in Engineering and/or technical development is preferred.
