As a Software Quality Engineer III, you are responsible for executing and maintaining quality engineering methodologies and providing quality engineering support for non-product software. You will ensure software systems are developed, validated and maintained in compliance with regulatory and business procedures.
What you will do:
Lead Test Planning and Review: Test stories independently and demo work. Become a leader that instills confidence in stakeholders. Create and guide Test Suite creation and maintenance. Guide Epic-level testing through Regression, Integration, Performance, and Security Test Planning. Facilitate testing between teams. Learn how to effectively mentor others. Considered a SME in an area of the product, a key role in our Culture of Quality.
Master Exploratory Testing: Break the system through negative path and edge case testing. Execute Compatibility, Integration, E2E, and Sanity Testing. Report status to team and beyond. Understand and test risk around backward compatibility and complex relationships between systems. Limit variables in environment, data, and other state-critical parameters. Begin understanding holistic Test Coverage through Epic-level Testing. Mentor Developers, Product Owners, and other SQEs in Testing.
Triage and interpret test results. Clean up other peoples' low quality code while writing their test cases. Ensure test environment and data is always ready and effective. Use AppSec and Accessibility testing techniques on stories. Incorporate web penetration testing when applicable.
Own quality reporting for the scrum team: Responsible for team risk being communicated effectively to decision-makers. Ensure the quality of RCAs. Drive improvement on Retrospective findings that are team-specific. Participate in broader QE improvement initiatives.
This position might be a fit for you if:
You have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar or you have equivalent experience
You have experience with TestRail or something similar
You have experience working with APIs
You have beginner to intermediate SQL skills (executing and creating queries)
You can understand/read coding languages, specifically NodeJS, Java and Angular
You have some automation experience
You think outside the box and have excellent problem solving skills
You are highly collaborative and reach out to your teammates to ask questions
