Looking for a Software Engineering role where you can write great code AND make a difference to the world? Level Access helps companies design and enhance their digital systems - including websites, web applications, software, and hardware - so they are usable by people with disabilities. We are looking for engineering talent to: 
 

  • Help us develop our cutting-edge technology platform that is changing the web to be more accessible 

  • Write high quality code with emphasis on accessibility, test coverage, and scalability 

  • Participate as a full Agile scrum team member, helping drive delivery of work 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is highly preferred

  • 2+ years of experience with full-stack web development, preferably with MEAN stack. 

  • Knowledge or willingness to learn our tech-stack: TypeScript, HTML, SASS, Angular, NodeJS, Express, MongoDB, Rabbit 

  • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, and to listen carefully to the needs and experiences of others 

  • Proficiency in English 

Bonus Point Experiences 

  • Experience using:  

- Git / GitFlow / Bitbucket 

- Jira & Confluence 

- Webpack, Rollup 

- Jasmine, Puppeteer 

- TSLint/ESLint 

- Docker, K8S, AWS, Terraform 

  • Experience with Web Application Security / OWASP best practices. 

  • Experience with accessible web design including Section 508 and WCAG 

  • Prior experience building scalable applications for the cloud

At Level Access, internal programs support emerging leaders, train managers and allot employees $1,000 a year for professional development. “I got to where I am in my career with the help and kindness of many,” Wood said. “I want to make sure others experience that.”

Creating accessible digital experiences
Supporting teams of consultants, Sarah Rose leverages a tech stack that includes Level Access’ own Accessibility Management Platform (AMP). “Our team also works with a wide range of assistive technologies and tools including desktop and mobile screen readers, screen magnification software, speech dictation and voice recognition software, Braille displays, switch devices and alternative keyboards,” Rose said. Finding the right tools means knowing everyone’s needs. “We need tools accessible to all our team members and don’t work with ones not everyone can participate within,” she said.

As an enterprise team lead, Jesse Idun spends half the day with clients in his territory to help them along their respective accessibility journeys — then spends the other half mentoring account executives to do the same. “The sales culture is one of collaboration with a focus on advancement and improvement,” he said. Since learning from account managers in his first months on the job, Odun has made himself available for impromptu coaching and training sessions aimed at accessibility education and empowering future leaders on his own team. “There are always ways to pay it forward,” he said.
