How will you make an impact in this role?

Role Description and Key responsibilities: This role will be developing solutions and extending COTS products for the Finance Treasury Department in American Express. The right candidate will be comfortable with developing, testing, deploying, and supporting secure software products, as well as extending or migrating existent software products. A growth mind-set, ability to learn fast, prioritize, and make decisions within the scope of responsibilities are key to this role.

  • Requirements Gathering, Analysis & Design
  • Writing and debugging code in Python, Java, SQL, various JavaScript Frameworks, HTML, CSS
  • Intermediate understanding of PaaS, DaaS, and XaaS
  • Collaborating with team members to design and implement software
  • Testing and documenting software
  • Learning and applying coding best practices
  • Participating and Driving code reviews
  • Assisting in the support including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
  • Ensuring software solutions have no security vulnerabilities
  • Ensuring software solutions are resilient
  • Contributing to overall secure software development lifecycle
  • Keeping up to date with industry trends and technologies

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience and certifications
  • 5+ years of experience in software development
  • Experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, SQL, HTML, and CSS
  • Experience with JavaScript Frameworks such as reactjs and nodejs
  • Experience with Querying languages such as T-SQL or PL/SQL
  • Experience with data structures and algorithms
  • Experience with data modeling and data engineering
  • Proficiency with GitHub, Jenkins (or equivalent), CI/CD
  • Experience with one or more Cloud technologies including IaaS, PaaS, DaaS, and XaaS
  • Experience with the Testing Lifecycle, Unit Testing, SIT, Regression Testing, UAT
  • Experience with SSDLC
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Generative AI applied to coding and testing

Other Competencies

  • Experience with Mainframe (optional)
  • Knowledge of ITIL (optional)
  • Finance & Accounting basic knowledge (optional)
  • Familiar with networking concepts (optional)

Qualifications

Salary Range: $85,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
