JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Software Engineer on the Backend team at Prescriptive Data, you will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of our various APIs, integrations, and other backend services. You will work closely with other Engineering teams and Product Managers to deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with 2-3 years of development experience who is looking to learn from the wealth of experience we already have in place on the team, while also having a significant role in delivering code within a startup environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with other members of the Backend team to design and implement scalable solutions to fit product goals
• Develop, test, and maintain high-quality code that is capable of evolving as the organization grows
• Collaborate with other Engineering teams and Product Managers to design the next generation of our software
• Contribute to existing Backend services and integrations, while helping to implement new solutions when required
• Assist in the diagnosis and troubleshooting of production issues, and help to expand our monitoring and response capabilities as needed
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• 2-3 years of professional development experience
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience with Node.js
• Familiarity with NoSQL (e.g. MongoDB) and SQL (e.g. PostgreSQL) databases
• Understanding of RESTful API design principles
• Knowledge of version control systems, such as Git
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Enthusiastic about working in a collaborative startup environment

NICE TO HAVES

• Experience with cloud computing, especially AWS
• Knowledge of containerization tools, specifically Docker
• Familiarity with serverless architectures, bonus if within Serverless Framework
• Previous startup experience
