What we’re looking for:

As part of the Supply Chain team in the Senior Buyer/Senior Sourcing Specialist role, you will be responsible for working with the Sourcing Project Managers and regional project teams supporting in achieving product material cost savings roadmaps during the Project Acquisition phase through the permission to operate (PTO) project life cycle of the phases. You will also work with the Sourcing Specialists to support managing the material PO execution within the overall projects, OTD, first article certification, and transfer of materials to the project sites. You'll also work on sustaining end-of-life project material changes that will impact costs. This role reports to the Sourcing Project Manager and will be hybrid out of our Chicago offices.

What you’ll do:

  • Support the Sourcing Project Managers in managing project timelines within the assigned regions related to suppliers on cost/delivery/service performance from preconstruction to PTO.
  • Manage the quotation analysis that the Sourcing Specialists prepare from different suppliers, utilizing the total cost of ownership (TCO) tools and should cost of the parts, components, etc.
  • Utilize the approved vendor list (AVL) as the source of suppliers to be used for quotations.
  • Analyze quotations from different suppliers, utilizing the TCO tools and reconciling with approved ROM's.
  • Negotiate with the supplier the equipment costs and project timeline deliverables.
  • Oversee tactical purchasing activities such as expediting material, orders, past due PO’s, open PO’s, PO confirmations, receiving/purchasing related issues, IFM accounting/purchasing related issues, etc..
  • Update and maintain standard costs until PO execution per project.
  • Understand the technical functionality of equipment and accessory equipment.
  • Establish good working relationships with suppliers and internal customers.
  • Conduct and facilitate technical design reviews with suppliers, in order to confirm functionality of the part/component and manufacturability.
  • Assist the Category Managers with the sourcing of new suppliers for new or existing products update the center of excellence (COE) war room data including/but not limited to:
    • Onboarding new suppliers
    • Current project equipment costs
    • Present COE cost-saving initiatives

What you’ll bring:

  • 3+ years’ experience in supply chain sourcing and/or purchasing.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • ERP knowledge and experience e.g. SAP, Oracle, etc.
  • Commitment to Nexamp's mission and have a passion for solving tomorrow's climate crisis today.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.
  • Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization. We value accountability and an ownership mentality.
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
  • Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry.
  • Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions.
