Senior Software Engineer, Data Analytics

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated engineer to join the Data Science & Analytics Engineering (DSAE) team within the Platform organization. The DSAE team owns all data transformation and modeling across the company, enabling downstream reporting, data APIs and advanced analytics. You will join a centralized data organization, consisting of data engineers, machine learning engineers, scientists and analysts. The models we build enable our users to get an unparalleled view of the $15 trillion dollar CRE industry, the opportunity for business wide impact is limitless!


Please note: 
This role will be hybrid in-office in our Toronto office 2-3 days a week.

To thrive in this role you have:

  • Experience in an analytics focused role - analytics engineer, data engineer or data scientist with a strong engineering background
  • Knowledge and familiarity of dimension modeling or data warehousing concepts such as Kimball, Inmon or Data Vault
  • Expertise in building and maintaining data pipelines in dbt, semantic layers and self-service technologies in Looker, and familiarity with tools across the data stack: Snowflake, Airflow, Fivetran, Jupyter, etc
  • Expert programming and data manipulation skills with SQL and Python as well as knowledge of Git and CI/CD best practices
  • Experience developing, deploying and improving sustainable analytical models, give strong technical recommendations and maintain a curious mindset
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to translate complex topics to non-technical stakeholders
  • Creative problem solver able to tackle ambiguous problems with little guidance

  • Building: Scalable, reliable and accurate data pipelines to support self-serve analytics, data products and the automation of downstream data processes.
  • Designing: Robust, efficient and performant data architecture & models to support reporting and analytics needs. Working with stakeholders across the business to understand evolving requirements.
  • Enhancing our processes, tools, and technology: Improve on our existing data capabilities, collaborating with partners across data services to increase our operational efficiency and reduce our time to insight. 
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other engineers, analysts, and stakeholders across the business, enabling them to build data products independently via pairing, setting best practices and data governance.
  • Continuous improvement: Keep abreast of state-of-the-art tools and technology, translating the latest industry trends into practical applications for the business.
