Job Description

The Senior Software Development Manager at Experian will work on Decisioning Analytics North America software and platforms with a focus on security remediation. Additional work areas will also include technical debt improvements and the implementation new features. Applications supported will include Precise ID, Precise Match, IEN, Document Capture among others. This role will participate as a member of a DA Technology Scrum team to fulfill these objectives. They will be expected to function with a fair degree of autonomy taking high level direction from Leadership and Product. 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple Scrum teams, primarily composed of contractors, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions in alignment with business goals and timelines.
  • Act as the primary leader and point of contact for our remote development site in India, managing operations independently. This role requires a strong capability in setting up processes, managing team dynamics, and ensuring the remote team's alignment with the organization's standards and practices.
  • Serve as the vital communication bridge between the India site and US counterparts. This involves coordinating across time zones, cultures, and business practices to ensure seamless collaboration, alignment on project objectives, and the successful delivery of software projects.
  • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to align development efforts with business objectives.
  • Oversee the technical direction and architecture of software solutions.
  • Promote best practices in software development, including agile methodologies and DevOps.
  • Ensure the delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable software.
  • Design robust Java applications within a microservices architecture.
  • Leverage AWS cloud services for scalable application deployment and management.
  • Decompose workstreams into modular pieces and mentor team members to accomplish.
  • Drive security remediation strategy to resolve complex issues with minimal impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
  • Strong prompt engineering skills and effective usage of AI code assistance.
  • Proven experience managing software development teams, with a strong preference for experience in managing remote teams and working with contractors.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, capable of motivating and guiding teams across different geographical locations to achieve their best.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, with a track record of implementing effective processes to drive software delivery.
  • Experience in cross-cultural management, able to navigate the complexities of working across different time zones and cultural expectations.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and make strategic decisions that benefit the project and organization.
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment, and the ability to interface with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong technical expertise in Java, AWS, Kafka, and related technologies.
  • Proven ability to manage and deliver complex software projects.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a focus on team development and empowerment
