So, what’s the role?

At Kin, we are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic-thinking Senior Risk Management Analyst to be a key player in our Insurance Operations Team, specifically within the new Insurance Risk Management sub-team. This group is strategically positioned to identify, assess, and mitigate risks that could disrupt Kin's value proposition or business model, ensuring resilience and sustainability in existing and new markets. This role is crucial in upholding Kin's compliance with legal and regulatory requirements across all jurisdictions and products for our operations teams, developing control processes for long-term compliance, and safeguarding against operational and sales-related risks.

This is an exciting opportunity to help grow a new function within the Kin insurance operations department and work on highly impactful projects. Through innovation and automation, Kin’s insurance operations department elevates the efficiency and productivity of front-line insurance teams by implementing strategic initiatives that reduce operational costs and improve workflows.

A day in the life could include: 

  • Collaborating with the Compliance and Legal departments to proactively identify potential risk exposures in operational and sales activities, emphasizing the prevention of insurance errors and omissions.
  • Serving as a key advisor to operational teams, translating compliance requirements into actionable strategies and scalable processes.
  • Conducting detailed risk assessments, identifying compliance and E&O risks and proposing innovative solutions to mitigate these risks, enhancing Kin's compliance adherence and customer trust.
  • Designing and leading audits and control processes to continuously monitor risk management effectiveness within operations, making data-driven recommendations for improvements.
  • Developing and facilitating risk management education programs for operations, promoting a company-wide culture of risk awareness and compliance.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of Kin's insurance products and market positioning, ensuring risk management practices align with and support Kin's strategic goals.

I’ve got the skills… but do I have the necessary ones?

  • At least 5 years of experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on strategic operations, risk management, compliance or legal.
  • In-depth knowledge of operations and ability to forecast potential risks related to regulatory, industry and organizational changes.
  • Proven track record of directly managing teams (at least 3 years), including the ability to motivate, mentor, and guide team members toward achieving their goals.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to manage complex projects and influence decision-making processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, adept at negotiating and persuading stakeholders across various levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a team-oriented approach to problem-solving.
