We are looking for a brilliant Senior Product Manager to help us build an industry leading product experience for our clients. We are a flat and agile organization and plan to remain this way. We are looking for a hands-on Senior Product Manager who can help build our communications products within Kraken. They will solve complex problems that will enhance the communication for Octopus and for its clients, will play a critical role in driving the success of digital marketing initiatives by combining strategic thinking, product management expertise, and data-driven decision-making and will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of digital marketing campaigns or products using different channels such as email, telephone, text messaging, social and others.


The Senior Product Manager has direct responsibility for coordinating, managing, and prioritizing the product roadmap to ensure clarity and understanding with both the Kraken and client business. They will need to work in partnership with the technology teams and our Client Delivery Leads. The Senior Product Manager really needs to know how our communications products work within Kraken, identify problems, and refine solutions in the best way to leverage existing and new capability. They will bring technology, people and processes together to innovate improvements for our clients.


What you'll do

  • Strategy Development: You will work with the design/marketing team to develop comprehensive digital marketing strategies that align with business objectives. This involves understanding the target audience, market trends, and competitor analysis.
  • Product Development: You will oversee the development of digital marketing products or tools that support campaign execution, such as email marketing platforms, social media management tools, or analytics platforms. This may involve working with cross-functional teams including designers, developers, and marketers.
  • Campaign Management: You will manage the execution of digital marketing campaigns from start to finish, ensuring that campaigns are launched on time, within budget, and meet performance targets. This includes coordinating with various stakeholders, monitoring campaign performance, and making adjustments as needed to optimize results.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: You will analyze campaign performance data to measure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement, generate reports and insights to share with key stakeholders, and use data to inform future campaign strategies.
  • Technology Evaluation: You will stay up-to-date on the latest digital marketing technologies and tools, evaluating new platforms and technologies to determine their potential impact on campaign performance. You may also manage relationships with external vendors or technology partners.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: You will collaborate closely with other teams within the organization, including marketing, sales, product development, and IT, to ensure alignment and integration of digital marketing efforts with overall business goals.

  • Day-to-day activities:

    Campaign Planning and Strategy:

  • Review campaign objectives and KPIs.
  • Analyze market trends and audience insights.
  • Develop or refine campaign strategies based on goals and insights.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on campaign objectives and messaging.
  • Product Management:

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of digital marketing products or tools, such as email marketing platforms, social media management tools, or analytics platforms.
  • Collaborate with design and development teams to define product requirements and priorities.
  • Conduct user testing and gather feedback to inform product improvements.
  • Campaign Execution:

  • Coordinate the implementation of digital marketing campaigns across various channels, such as email, social media, search, and display advertising.
  • Monitor campaign performance in real-time and make adjustments as needed to optimize results.
  • Troubleshoot any technical issues or roadblocks that arise during campaign execution.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Collect and analyze campaign performance data using tools like Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or marketing automation platforms.
  • Generate regular reports to track key metrics and provide insights into campaign effectiveness.
  • Identify trends and patterns in the data to inform future campaign strategies and optimizations.
  • Stakeholder Communication:

  • Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders, including marketing teams, sales teams, product managers, and executives, to provide updates on campaign progress and results.
  • Collaborate with external vendors or partners as needed to support campaign execution or technology integration.
  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Conduct post-campaign reviews to evaluate performance against goals and identify areas for improvement.
  • Gather feedback from team members and stakeholders to inform future campaign planning and execution.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in digital marketing and product management.

What you'll have

  • Proven experience in a product leadership role within a product-led company, with a track record of successfully developing and launching effective campaigns.
  • Strong strategic thinking, have a growth mindset and vision-setting abilities, with the capability to align product strategy with business goals and market dynamics.
  • Deep understanding of Product Management methodologies, agile development practices and user-centred design principles.
  • To be able to work in an ambiguous, dynamic environment, and be comfortable with uncertainty and constant change. Experience in a fast-paced start-up or scale-up would be a plus.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse, global teams and influence decision-making at all levels of the organisation.
  • To be curious and a great listener - fantastic ideas come from everywhere in Kraken Technologies, so you’ll need to be able to spot and harness them.
  • Be great at networking. Kraken is full of smart and friendly people, this is an incredible resource to draw on and build on.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to interact with people with varying levels of technical knowledge. Working proficiency in European languages is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the energy industry is a plus. Experience working in logistics of hardware focussed industries is also a plus for this role.
  • Experience of Agile or Lean product development at scale, across the product lifecycle.
  • English fluency. Japanese ability is nice to have.
